Hello! I am Kylie, the creator/owner of Sand2Dust and i have a disease called Endometriosis. It is a very misunderstood chronic illness that until recently has not been talked about or had much research done. I would like to use my page/name to raise a little bit of awareness about this disease as my life is greatly impacted by my Endo as are alot of other woman in Australia, being that it affects at least 1 in 9 girls/woman. Having Endo can make it extremely difficult for some of us to have a normal life as some of us are in pain more than we are not. It effects our every day life and especially our ability to work and hold a job leading to many of us struggling and trying to find something we can do from home to make a living. 

What is Endo? It is a Chronic Disease associated with severe, life-impacting pain which can occur at any time of the month, aswell as with sexual intercourse, bowel movements and/or urination, chronic pelvic pain, abdominal bloating, nausea, fatigue, whole body aches and pains, weakness and sometimes depression, anxiety, and infertility. There are 4 stages of Endo, stage 4 being the worst causing infertility and greatly affecting many organs in the body.....(which is what i have.) 

How to fix it? Currently there is no cure for Endo. Most of us choose to go through surgery (as i will be in 2024) to try to help alleviate some of the pain and improve our fertility and chances of having a baby.....but there is no cure for Endo and no guarantee that surgery will help. We are givin the option of hormonal control to help with the pain, but if you are trying to start a family than being on hormonal birth control is not an option. 

How can you help? I have designed a few Endo awareness shirts that are available to purchase. Profits from these shirts will be donated to an Endo Fundraiser in Australia that goes towards support and research for Endometriosis. 
Other ways you can help is to do some research and make yourself aware of what people with severe endometriosis symptoms might be going through. It is becoming a common disease and you may already know someone who is struggling with it.
